India welcomes the First Gen Beta Baby | Neo Science Hub

India welcomed its first child of the new generation on New Year’s Day, January 1, in Aizawl, Mizoram, marking the start of 2025 and the beginning of “Generation Beta.” In 2025, baby Frankie Remruatdika Zadeng was the first newborn born at Durtlang’s Synod Hospital in Aizawl, on January 1 at 12:03 a.m.

According to All India Radio News, the infant weighed 3.12 kg when he was born. Sister Lalchhuanawmi of the hospital’s Lawmna Ward reports that Frankie, the baby boy, is healthy and free of difficulties. Frankie joined his family, which also includes his parents, Ramzirmawii and ZD Remruatsanga, according to Akashvani News Aizawl. The mother said she was thrilled to have given birth to the first Beta child in the country.

Gen Beta will refer to children born between 2025 and 2039. Mark McCrindle, a futurist, came up with the word. Gen Alpha, the generation that will end in 2024, was born in 2010, marking the last generational shift in history. The reason the latter two generations were called “Alpha and Beta” rather than alphabets are explained in his blog. A whole different environment will shape the first generations, not simply new ones, according to the change.

It is estimated that between 13 and 16 percent of the world’s population will be children born in 2025. Rapid technology breakthroughs will shape their world as they grow up, with virtual reality and artificial intelligence becoming increasingly prevalent in daily life.

Since technology is driving the world now and most people from previous generations appear to be catching up, Gen Beta has an advantage over others. But according to specialists, this will lead to a lack of interpersonal and creative abilities.

Given that Gen Beta will inherit a planet beset by urgent problems like climate change, overcrowding, and pervasive environmental problems, experts also expect that Gen Beta will place a high priority on sustainability. It is anticipated that this generation will be crucial in resolving these global issues and influencing a future in which creative thinking and ecological living will permeate everyday existence.
