KABIL a partnership involving NALCO, Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), along with the Ministry of Mines and CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), have joined forces. They recently inked a deal in Bhubaneswar to collaborate on this mission.
The agreement, signed on Thursday, was a significant step forward, with representatives from KABIL and NGRI in attendance. During the event, they emphasized the necessity of studying the Earth’s composition and structure to uncover crucial minerals.
Sridhar Patra, the chairman and managing director of both NALCO and KABIL, highlighted how this partnership would inject fresh ideas and valuable insights, particularly benefiting KABIL’s ongoing projects. NGRI’s reputation for expertise in Earth studies added weight to the collaboration.
The collaboration holds significance because the minerals they seek are vital for manufacturing electronics, renewable energy sources, defense equipment, and communication devices. India’s goal to generate half of its electricity from non-fossil fuels by 2030 underscores the importance of securing a stable mineral supply.
