ChromARC – HPLC CompanionThe world of analytical science saw a new and valuable addition on September 18, 2025, as Dr. U. Satyanarayana’s book, “ChromARC,” was officially inaugurated in Smart Labtech, Hall 1, Booth C01, at the analytica Lab India & Pharma Pro&Pack Expo 2025. The event, held on the first day of the expo, marked a significant milestone for chromatographers and laboratory professionals.
The book, with ChromARC – HPLC Companion(Uncovering HPLC Secrets: An Ultimate Guide), aims to serve as an elaborate and comprehensive resource for professionals and students alike.
Inaugurating the book, Venkata Satya Prasad Potharaju, Managing Director of Smart Labtech, highlighted the book’s positive contributions to the field.
“This guide will help the chromatographer to become a doctor and not a compounder,” he stated, echoing a key theme from the book’s foreword. He praised the book’s ability to empower professionals to “diagnose the report generated by the chromatography instrument” and move beyond merely “perform[ing] injections”. Satya Prasad, who also provided his full support for the book’s development, was joined by other directors of Smart Labtech, including Dheeraj Punukollu and Ram Koundinya Potharaju.
The author, Dr. U. Satyanarayana, a veteran in the field with 38 years of industrial experience, was present also at the inauguration. According to him, he wrote the book to record the “majority of the troubles” he faced throughout his career, compiling a practical guide that provides a ready reference in the laboratory for immediate solutions. The book is a testament to his rich experience as an industry expert, researcher, and trainer. His objective was to create a tool for the analytical professional who “cannot carry their smart phones or can’t access the internet in their work place,” providing them with an indispensable resource.
The book’s acknowledgements thank several individuals for their review comments during its preparation, including Kuppa Ramalinga Prasad, TV Vidya Sagar, NVV SS Raman, Subramanyam Iyer, and SVV Prasad Surampudi. The book has a wide scope, covering topics from the basic principles of chromatography to sophisticated techniques like Mass Spectroscopy. It addresses common day-to-day problems and their practical solutions, making it a valuable guide for those working in Quality Control and Analytical Development departments.
The event was also graced by the presence of Maruthi Prasad Kavuri, Managing Director of Metsar Technologies, and several other dignitaries including Indraneel Pulijala, Madhu, N Shiva Kumar, Pavan Parimi, Sridhar Alamuru, Srikanth Amirapu, Muralikrishna Veeramallu, and Kinnera M, underscoring the book’s significance to the analytical community.
