Telangana CM Revanth Reddy at BioAsia 2024

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy unveiled the ambitious plans for the next phase of Genome Valley during the Healthcare, Life Sciences Bio Asia 2024 event held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). The state government has committed to establishing the next phase of Genome Valley near Hyderabad on 300 acres of land, involving a substantial investment of Rs. 2,000 crore.

In his address, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy revealed the state’s initiative to develop 10 pharma villages, with an exceptional investment of Rs. 1 lakh crore. This monumental project aims to bolster infrastructure, create new employment opportunities, and provide a conducive environment for entrepreneurial ventures, with an estimated creation of around 5 lakh new jobs.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister underscored the global focus on life, health, and disease in the post-Covid era, emphasizing the significance of the Bio Asia conference as a beacon of hope amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic. Hyderabad’s pivotal role as the capital of life sciences was highlighted, with the city being recognized as a source of optimism in the global fight against health adversities.

Revanth Reddy reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering a conducive ecosystem, implementing facilitative policies, building robust infrastructure, and providing steadfast support to domestic, international, and start-up ventures. Noteworthy was the emphasis on driving the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with the Chief Minister extending assurance of comprehensive support for aspirational endeavors.

During the event, the Chief Minister extended congratulations to Nobel Laureate Professor Greg L. Semenza for his selection as the recipient of the Genome Valley Excellence Award, further underscoring Hyderabad’s pivotal role in recognizing and honoring exemplary contributions in the realm of life sciences.

The inaugural program of the BioAsia-2024 conference also witnessed addresses from notable dignitaries including IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, signifying widespread recognition and participation in this pivotal gathering of critical stakeholders in the healthcare and life sciences domain.

This momentous announcement serves as a testament to the state’s unwavering commitment to fostering the growth and development of the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors, propelling Hyderabad onto the global stage as a key player in the advancement of scientific endeavors and innovation.
