BIACH&RI Launches ACT Clinic in Hyderabad
In an era where medical advancements are saving more lives than ever, the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute in Hyderabad has taken a significant leap forward. On International Childhood Cancer Day, February 15, 2024, the hospital launched the ACT (After Completion of Therapy) Clinic, a beacon of hope for cancer survivors.
The clinic’s inauguration was a momentous occasion, with Dr. Purna Kurkure, Joint Managing Trustee of the Indian Cancer Society, unveiling the new facility. Dr. K Krishniah, CEO of BIACH&RI, praised the unique concept of the clinic, emphasizing its role in helping cancer survivors lead normal lives post-treatment.
Dr. Kurkure highlighted the increasing survival rates among cancer patients, particularly children, thanks to medical technology advancements. However, she also underscored the challenge of managing the long-term health of these survivors, lauding BIACH&RI’s initiative as a step in the right direction.
Dr. Krishna Mohan, Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at BIACH&RI, explained the ACT Clinic’s objective: to enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors. The clinic aims to identify and address various issues faced by survivors, providing relief and paving the way for a brighter future.
As the famous quote by Lance Armstrong goes, “Once you choose hope, anything is possible.” The ACT Clinic embodies this spirit, offering a new lease on life for cancer survivors. The launch event concluded with a Q&A session, where medical experts addressed queries from cancer survivors.
The ACT Clinic stands as a testament to the power of hope and the relentless pursuit of a world where every cancer survivor can lead a fulfilling life.
Adding to the narrative of hope and progress, similar efforts across India underscore the collective endeavor to support cancer survivors!
