The L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) in Hyderabad has been honored as one of the ‘Top 10 Best NGOs of the Year – 2024’ at the Global CSR & ESG Awards-2024, held recently in Gurgaon. The Public Relations and Donor Affairs team Mahaveer  C Jain accepted the  award on behalf of LVPEI.

Dr. Prashant Garg, Executive Chairman of LVPEI, expressed that the award reflects the hard work of their entire team and the strong support from donors and partners. He mentioned that such recognition inspires them to keep up their efforts.

LVPEI was chosen for its significant impact on the eye health sector. Serving 150 million people in India, LVPEI provides over 2 million eye care services annually, including 150,000 surgeries. Impressively, about half of these services are free of charge, regardless of the complexity. The institute is also one of the largest corneal transplantation centers in the world, having performed over 50,000 transplants.

The Global CSR and ESG Awards aim to evaluate and acknowledge the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives of companies, and recognize the NGOs and social enterprises that partner with them to create meaningful and lasting impacts.
