The Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH & RI) recently organized a special workshop focused on advanced robotic surgical techniques in uro-oncology. The two-day event brought together a team of skilled surgeons, led by Dr. Rakesh Sharma, along with Dr. Srivatsa Narasimha, Dr. Ashwin Giridhar, and Dr. Amiresh Mohan. The team performed complex robotic-assisted surgeries, including robotic radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, radical cystectomy with intracorporeal ileal conduit, adrenalectomy, and radical nephrectomy.
The workshop was formally inaugurated by BIACH & RI Chairman, Nandamuri Balakrishna, in a special ceremony. Speaking at the event, he highlighted the hospital’s journey in robotic surgery, recalling that BIACH & RI introduced its first robotic surgical system in 2017.
