Dubai World Trade Centre hosts largest edition in 43-year history as Middle East emerges as global laboratory technology hub, reports Maruthi Prasad Kavuri of Neo Science Hub, from Dubai.
The Middle East’s premier laboratory and analytical industry exhibition opened its doors today at Dubai World Trade Centre, marking a milestone moment for the regional scientific community. Arablab Live 2025 has achieved unprecedented scale in its 43rd edition, drawing more than 12,000 professional visitors from over 130 countries to engage with 1,000+ leading suppliers and solution providers.
The three-day exposition, running through September 25, has expanded dramatically from previous years, occupying 25,000 square meters of exhibition space—a significant increase from 15,000 square meters in 2024. This growth reflects the region’s rising prominence in the global laboratory technology landscape and positions Dubai as an emerging hub for scientific innovation and collaboration.
Government Leadership Underscores Industry Significance
The event’s official inauguration featured high-profile government participation, with H.E. Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Regulation at the UAE Ministry of Health, delivering the opening address. Dr. Al Amiri emphasized the critical role of laboratory excellence in public health and regulation, signaling strong governmental support for the industry’s continued development.
The opening ceremony also featured keynote presentations from regional leaders, including Eng. Hind Ahmed, Director of Dubai Central Laboratory, who addressed how technology is driving excellence in public service laboratories. H.E. Eng. Abdulla Al Muaini, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, discussed the growing integration of artificial intelligence in strengthening public health systems, highlighting the region’s commitment to digital transformation in laboratory practices.
Multi-Track Conference Program Debuts
For the first time in Arablab’s history, the event features a comprehensive multi-track conference program running concurrently with the exhibition. Over 350 expert speakers are presenting across multiple themed stages, covering topics ranging from digital lab automation and petrochemicals (ArabChem) to environmental testing (EnviroTech), laboratory medicine, and innovations.
The free-to-attend conference sessions attracted packed audiences on the opening day, with attendees seeking insights into emerging trends. The program reflects the event’s theme of “Digital. Automated. Connected,” emphasizing the future-forward outlook of the laboratory sector and the increasing importance of technological integration.

Exhibition Floor Showcases Cutting-Edge Innovations
The exhibition halls buzzed with activity as global companies utilized Arablab as a platform for product launches and technology demonstrations. Notable among the exhibitors was Kewaunee Scientific from the United States, which unveiled new Revit-based laboratory design tools at Hall 1, Stand F80. These digital design solutions accelerate laboratory planning and visualization, exemplifying the broader trend toward laboratory digitalization showcased throughout the event.
Industry giants including Thermo Fisher, Sartorius, and Agilent presented alongside innovative startups, collectively showcasing advances in AI-powered laboratory information systems, automated sample preparation robotics, next-generation chromatography instruments, and sustainable laboratory consumables.
Start-Up Innovation Zone Launches
A significant addition to this year’s program is the dedicated Start-Up Zone, featuring over 100 startup companies presenting novel solutions in laboratory technology, artificial intelligence, digital solutions, and sustainable science. The zone attracted considerable attention from attendees, investors, and industry leaders, reflecting Arablab’s commitment to nurturing innovation and providing emerging companies with access to the regional market.
Strong Commercial Engagement and Networking
The opening day demonstrated robust commercial activity, with exhibitors reporting high levels of engagement from the diverse international audience. Business Communications LLC of the UAE noted significant interest in its comprehensive range of 2,500+ laboratory products and solutions, spanning portable forensic kits to advanced analytical instruments.
The networking dimension proved equally successful, with formal and informal meetings filling corridors and lounge areas throughout the day. The evening concluded with exclusive networking receptions, including a gala dinner hosted by German manufacturer Memmert, underscoring the importance of relationship-building in this international gathering.
Industry Outlook
Erik Heath, General Manager of Arablab Live, characterized 2025 as a milestone year for the event, noting that the record-breaking international participation “will not only showcase technologies but also spark dialogue and collaboration that shape the future of science worldwide.”
The opening day’s success positions Arablab Live 2025 to fulfill its role as a catalyst for regional growth in laboratory technology adoption and scientific collaboration. With two days remaining, the event continues to serve as a critical platform for connecting regional buyers with global suppliers while fostering innovation through its comprehensive conference programming.
The exhibition continues through September 25, 2025, at Dubai World Trade Centre.
