The Global AI Summit, a landmark event in the field of artificial intelligence, was inaugurated on September 5th at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The summit, which spans two days, aims to position Hyderabad as a leading global hub for AI research and development.
In his inaugural address, Chief Minister Reddy emphasized Hyderabad’s readiness to embrace AI, stating, “No Indian city is as perfectly ready for AI as Hyderabad.” He unveiled the logo of AI City, a 200-acre hub dedicated to AI research and development, located near Hyderabad. This initiative, he said, marks a significant step towards making Hyderabad a “Future City” and a prominent AI hub globally.
The summit, themed “Making AI Work for Everyone,” has attracted over 2,000 delegates from around the world, including notable figures such as Sal Khan of Khan Academy, Daniela Combe from IBM, and Peter Diamandis of the XPRIZE Foundation. These global leaders are set to share their insights and visions for the future of AI, discussing opportunities, innovations, and the societal impacts of AI technology.
Chief Minister Reddy highlighted the Telangana government’s commitment to fostering AI development.
“This summit is our declaration that we are ready for AI. We invite everyone to join us in making the Future City a prominent AI hub in the world,” he said. The AI City project is a testament to this commitment, aiming to create a conducive environment for AI startups, research institutions, and tech giants to collaborate and innovate.
The summit features multiple stages for panel discussions, interactive sessions, and presentations on various AI-related topics. Delegates will debate the ethical implications, regulatory challenges, and potential societal impacts of AI, ensuring a comprehensive discourse on the future of AI technology.
