CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru has revealed its schedule of Short Term Courses for the fiscal year 2024-25. These courses, totaling 27, cover a range of topics in Food Science and Technology as part of the CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative.

The courses are designed to be short yet intensive, catering to students, academicians, professionals, and entrepreneurs who have limited time but a keen interest in upgrading their skills. Participants can expect lectures, demonstrations, and practical classes conducted by experienced faculty members in the advanced laboratories and pilot plants of CSIR-CFTRI.

Certificates of participation will be awarded upon successful completion of the courses. CFTRI is also recognized as a Training Partner for Skill Development Programs aligned with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) under the Skill India Mission, offering specialized skills in areas like Baking, Food Microbiology, and Spice Processing.

In addition to regular courses, CFTRI also offers customized programs tailored to the needs of academic institutions, government departments, industries, and other organizations involved in food processing.

CFTRI has trained over 1800 individuals in various streams in the previous year, including under the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme and farmer-centric training programs. The institute has also conducted specialized training programs for international delegations, such as the one on “Rice Milling and Value Addition to Rice” for a Guyanese delegation under the Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation (ITEC) Programme.
