Hands-On at HITEX: Inside the Live Experiment Arena

HITEX Inside the Live Experiment Arena

Beyond the conference halls, the Live Experiment Arena runs parallel demo sessions across all three days — hazardous materials storage protocols, microbial air monitoring, the Implen NanoPhotometer NP80, newly launched “autonomous” LC systems, and an AI-voice-assisted smart pipette.

Set apart from the conference programme upstairs, the Live Experiment Arena — located in Hall 3 — gives exhibitors a fixed slot to run live product demonstrations on the show floor itself. Asecos GmbH’s Sven Kretschmer is the arena’s most frequent presenter, running variations of a hazardous-materials storage session — covering general risk, and separately gases, corrosives and the newer hazard of lithium-battery storage — on all three days.

Day 1 pairs Kretschmer’s opening session with a microbial air-monitoring demonstration from Avantor Performance Materials on its VWR PBI air samplers, and closes with Inkarp Instruments walking through microvolume quantification of nucleic acids, proteins and gold-nanoparticle-tagged biomolecules on the Implen NanoPhotometer NP80.

Day 2 is the arena’s busiest, built around two simultaneous product launches at 12:30 pm — Spinco Biotech’s “world’s first and only” autonomous liquid chromatography system, and Shimadzu Corporation’s autonomous Nexis GC/GCMS platform, each followed immediately by a live demonstration in the 1:00–2:00 pm slot. The afternoon closes with a Carl Zeiss software demonstration on microscopy-based particle-size analysis. Day 3 pairs a further hazardous-materials session with Labvizons’ demonstration of a smart pipette fitted with an AI voice assistant.
