Hyderabad: At the opening session of the two-day national conference “Shaping the Future of Education @2047,” which was hosted by the Department of Education and Training at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, stated, “The purpose of education is to enhance human capacity that provide us the intellectual capability to address the questions as to how we are going to realise the future which is sustainable and secure.” The guest speaker was NIOS Chairperson Prof. Saroj Sharma. The revolutionary agenda of the meeting was unveiled.
In his remarks as the Chief Guest, Prof. Jagadesh Kumar stressed the importance of changing the educational system in line with NEP 2020 in order to realise a sustainable, healthy, peaceful, and safe future. This shift entails giving student’s autonomy, adaptability, and choice in their academic endeavours. Professor Kumar promoted inclusive development that is centred on women. He emphasised the vital importance of four pillars in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat, a fully developed nation by 2047: youth, women, farmers, and the poor. Prof. Kumar reaffirmed MANUU’s important role in the process of nation-building and reiterated his unshakable trust in the institution.
In her speech, Prof. Saroj Sharma explored the perspectives of several educational commissions, highlighting the agendas for Viksit Bharat @ 2047 and future educational orientations.
In his closing comments, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor of MANUU, voiced hope over the conference’s result. The Registrar, Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmad, gave the audience an overview of MANUU’s founding and its latest programme efforts.
The main guest was presented by Professor Shugufta Shaheen, while the guest speaker was introduced by Professor Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood.
The welcoming speech was given earlier by Prof. Vanaja M., Dean of the School of Education and Training. A vote of gratitude was proposed by Prof. Shaheen Altaf Shaikh, Head of the Department of Education and Training. The programme was called by assistant professor Dr. V.S. Sumi.
