Hyderabad Shivers Under a Blanket of Fog, Early Winter Walks Turn Magical

Hyderabad woke up on Friday morning to a dreamy winter scene, as dense fog wrapped itself around the city, turning it into a misty wonderland. From the bustling core areas to the serene outskirts, almost every corner of the city seemed to be cloaked in a thick blanket of fog, creating low visibility and adding a chill to the air.

The Northern and Eastern parts of the city, including Peerzadiguda-Medipally, Nagaram, ECIL, Nacharam, Uppal, and LB Nagar, were among the worst affected, with thick fog making it difficult for commuters to navigate. Major routes like the Thumkunta-Shamirpet main road and Kompally highway also experienced heavy fog, leaving drivers cautious on their morning journeys.

Similar conditions were reported in areas like Adibatla, Ibrahimpatnam, and Pocharam, where zero visibility added a unique twist to routine mornings.

For Hyderabad’s early risers, the foggy morning was a perfect backdrop for stunning photos. Many walkers, joggers, and office-goers took to social media to share snapshots of the city draped in mist.

Weather expert T. Balaji, known for his accurate forecasts on social media platform X, shared a heads-up with residents. “Enjoy the last leg of winter as long as it lasts in Hyderabad and elsewhere. After this spell, we are anticipating temperatures to rise from the first week of February itself,” he posted, hinting at the approaching summer heat.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD-Hyderabad) advised residents to expect foggy and misty mornings in isolated pockets of Telangana over the next five days. “Minimum temperatures are likely to remain normal during the next three days across the state,” the forecast noted.

As Hyderabad enjoys these final wintry touches, residents are reminded to drive carefully during foggy mornings and savor the season’s magical charm while it lasts.
