In a significant development for the space sector, three companies from Hyderabad are set to receive advanced technologies from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance India’s capabilities in the space industry.
The three companies that will benefit from this technology transfer are Zetatek Technologies, Avantel, and Jisnu Communications. They are among six Indian firms receiving a total of ten different technologies from ISRO, as announced by the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe).
Zetatek Technologies specializes in testing inertial navigation systems. They will receive two advanced inertial sensors: a laser gyroscope and a ceramic servo accelerometer. This is notable because it is the first time an Indian company will have access to this advanced technology, which has previously been imported.
Avantel and Jisnu Communications, both of which develop communication solutions for space and defense, will receive three technologies related to ground station operations. These include systems for operating antennas that will improve the infrastructure needed for satellite communications.
The transfer of these technologies aims to bolster India’s self-reliance in critical areas of space operations. By providing private players access to developed technologies, the initiative is expected to promote innovation and growth within the Indian space industry.
This move reflects India’s growing ambition to become a major player in the global space sector and encourages private companies to contribute actively to this field. The agreements were officially signed between the companies and NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL), alongside IN-SPACe.
The development marks a new chapter in India’s approach to space, as it seeks to integrate private firms into its ambitious space exploration plans.
