In a stirring address to the graduating class of JNTU Hyderabad, Dr. Sreedhara Panicker Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, eloquently spoke about the transformative power of passion in achieving fuel success. His speech, infused with enthusiasm and wisdom, served as a powerful testament to how fervour and dedication can lead to remarkable achievements, exemplified by ISRO’s journey in space exploration.
Dr. Somanath began by reflecting on the incredible strides ISRO has made, attributing much of its success to the sheer passion and commitment of its team. He pointed out that the zeal with which scientists and engineers approached their work was a critical factor in overcoming challenges and reaching new heights. “It is this passion that has fuelled our journey to the moon, to Mars, and beyond,” he said, emphasizing the role of enthusiasm in turning ambitious dreams into reality.
Drawing a parallel to the graduates’ future endeavours, Dr. Somanath encouraged them to embrace their pursuits with a similar intensity and commitment. He urged them to find what they are truly passionate about and to dedicate themselves wholly to these pursuits.
“The path to success is paved with relentless passion. When you love what you do, the journey becomes as rewarding as the destination,” he remarked.
Furthermore, Dr. Somanath stressed the importance of not just having passion but also channelling it effectively. He advised the graduates to combine their fervour with a strong work ethic, resilience, and a continuous thirst for knowledge. This combination, he noted, is what enables individuals to make significant contributions and lead fulfilling careers. He encouraged the graduates to hold onto their enthusiasm and let it drive their ambitions.
“Your passion is the most powerful engine of your success. Nurture it, let it grow, and allow it to propel you to greatness,” he said.
