In a much-needed break from the intense cold wave, the minimum temperatures in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad began to rise between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, with a gradual increase of two to three degrees Celsius.
Despite the slight relief in the twin cities, several districts across Telangana continued to experience severe cold wave conditions. Sirpur in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district recorded the lowest temperature at 5.9°C, while Bela in Adilabad followed closely with 6.0°C.
Over the past 48 hours, many areas in Hyderabad had witnessed single-digit minimum temperatures. However, by Wednesday morning, the minimum temperatures in the twin cities rose above 10°C, signaling a slight recovery from the cold snap.
According to the source, Weather data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) showed that Rajendranagar recorded an average minimum temperature of 10.7°C, followed by the BHEL factory at 10.9°C, and the University of Hyderabad at 11.1°C. Notably, the minimum temperature at the University of Hyderabad, which had been between 7.1°C and 7.5°C in recent days, saw a significant rise of about 3 to 4°C overnight.
Moula Ali, another area that had been experiencing cold wave conditions with temperatures between 7°C and 8°C over the last few days, saw a rise to 11.6°C on Wednesday morning.
However, other regions of Telangana, such as Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, and Vikarabad, continued to endure minimum temperatures ranging from 5.9°C to 8°C, keeping the cold wave grip intact in those areas.
