Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy addressed the discussion on ‘Reimagining Urban Mobility’ at the World Economic Forum (WEF) CII conference in Davos, outlining his ambition for developing Hyderabad into the world’s finest metropolis for urban mobility.
Reddy stated, “I want to make Hyderabad’s future city the finest in the world in terms of urban mobility,” stressing that the three guiding principles of “fastest, greenest, and lowest cost” are crucial to success.
Four important factors that are essential to the future of urban transportation were emphasized in his address, which struck a deep chord with the audience: infrastructure, accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability.
He went on to say that accessibility is still at the core of his urban mobility policy, even though sustainability and infrastructure are important.
His emphasis on inclusivity was a standout feature of his speech; he said, “In addition to infrastructure and sustainability, I also have to think of access… About 20 million women have received free bus transportation from my administration. “My government has made significant progress in empowering women and marginalized individuals through mobility,” he stated.
In order to promote greater equality and opportunity, this program seeks to improve mobility access for marginalized segments of society.
Additionally, Revanth Reddy discussed his ambitious proposal to build “net-zero cities”—sustainable metropolitan centers that incorporate cutting-edge transportation technologies.
“We are creating a net-zero cities, the city of the future. Our goal is to create the greatest transportation alternatives in the world in this metropolis. Lastly, we want to relocate our staff in an economical and sustainable manner,” he continued.
The Chief Minister underlined how crucial it is to move people cheaply, effectively, and with as little negative impact on the environment as possible.
The audience responded to Reddy’s comments with thunderous applause, demonstrating a common conviction that the future of cities around the world will be greatly influenced by advancements in urban mobility.
To establish Telangana as a paradigm for sustainable urban development, Revanth Reddy urged for large investments to provide the infrastructure required to relocate the state’s 40 million residents.
In order to transport over 40 million people around Telangana, he emphasized, “I want investments to help create urban transportation infrastructure.”
