At Anthaipally Lake, dawn arrived wrapped in mist — and within it, this Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) stood still as sculpted silver. Ash-grey plumage catches the low light; slender black crest-plumes trace the breeze. It is a study in patience — a hunter reading the water’s smallest tremor before it moves. Photography like this is a reminder that stillness, too, is a form of power, refined over millions of years along the world’s wetlands.
